LUDHIANA —More than 15000 supporters flocked to attend the Panthik convention in the Gurdwara Sahib of village Hassanpur held by Bandi Singh Rihai Sangharsh Committee to spearhead the struggle by Bapu Surat Singh ji Khalsa. The motive of the convention was to deliberate upon the future strategies for the release of Sikh political prisoners.
Bapu Surat Singh Khasla is on hunger strike since January 16 demanding release of Sikh political prisoners who remain jailed in India even after having completed minimum mandatory terms of their sentences.
Following the ardas for the Chardi Kala of the struggle, a number of noted personalities presented their views at the Gurdwara Sahib. Committee convener S. Gurdeep Singh Bathinda started the convention and editor of Punjabi newspaper ‘Rozana Pehredar’ S. Jaspal Singh Heran acted as the stage secretary.
The convention concluded with the decision to give call for Ludhiana shut down on July 10 and also declared ‘Badal’ as biggest enemy of Sikhs. Sangharsh Committee’s convener S. Gurdeep Singh Bathinda informed that the meeting to chalk out the details of Ludhiana shut down program will be held on July 8.
Bhai Gurdeep Singh bathinda also informed that Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa might stop drinking water if Punjab government tries to arrest him.
