NURMAHAL (JALANDHAR): Mystery over Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan (DJJS) founder Ashutosh ‘s ‘death’ deepened further on Friday as nearly 60 hours after he was said to be ‘clinically dead’, the dera management claimed that he was in deep meditation while refusing to put any time limit to his “revival”. DJJS preachers stated that media had created hype on the issue and “rumours of death” spread due to communication gap.
While confirming that a freezer from a mortuary in a local temple was brought into to DJJS complex, dera spokesperson Vishalanand claimed that it was fetched by a local devotee on Tuesday and they were not aware of it and would send it back. When asked if it was possible to bring in the freezer with multiple security checks at the Dera entrance, Vishalanand said that it had happened without their knowledge.
Meanwhile, the official and police machinery also seemed clueless on the status of DJJS head’s health. Senior police officials, who have stationed themselves at the dera, said that they were also not conveyed anything about the next course of action and were under the impression that the situation would be clear on Friday. Jalandhar senior superintendent of police (rural) Jaspreet Sidhu, who is camping at the site, said the police had no idea about decision of the dera.
Dera preachers Vishalanand, Vishavdevanand and Jaya Bharti, who interacted with the media at dera headquarters, ruled out any possibility to allow any outsider, including senior official or media persons, to have a look at the sect head from a distance while he was in ‘samadhi.’ They said initial information about Ashutosh Maharaj’s death was given by some ‘sewadars’ (volunteers) as they could not comprehend he was in ‘samadhi’.
“Earlier also he would sit in ‘samadhi’ for longer times, which could be of several hours after bolting his room from inside,” the dera spokespersons said. However, they admitted that earlier they had never seen him in such a condition. They also denied that there was any row of succession in the dera.
