EC notice to senior Dhindsa for issuing petrol slips worth Rs 3 lacs

Sangrur 29 April: Election commission (EC) has issued a notice to SAD candidate Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa following complaints that he had issued petrol and diesel slips to youths participating in the roadshow on bikes on Sunday, the election commission (EC) has issued a notice to him.

Deputy commissioner-cum-returning officer Kavita Singh said, “During the investigation, it was found that the SAD candidate had purchased bill books from the petrol pumps and issued slips worth ` 3 lakh to the participants to get fuel from several petrol pumps in the constituency.”

She said that a notice has been issued to the candidate for not taking permission for this expenditure. “If he fails to reply in 24 hours, the amount will be included in his election expenditure,” she said, adding, “I we get more proof and the amount may increase. ”It may be mentioned here that, on Sunday, Dhindsa, who is eyeing a cabinet berth if the NDA came to pwer at the Centre, had invited Bollywood actor Sunny Deol to hold a roadshow in his support here
