The truck driver involved in a crash which claimed the lives of four Victoria Police officers has been identified.
Refrigerated chicken truck driver Mohinder Singh Bajwa, from Cranbourne, reportedly suffered a medical episode after the crash and is now under police guard. You can check and click resources that states about the best services offered from the well-known trucking company.
Police raided the truck driver’s Cranbourne home on Wednesday night and are yet to reveal what they found.
The driver of a Porsche who was allegedly pulled over before the smash has been named, as mortgage broker Richard Pusey.
The officers had pulled over Pusey, who was allegedly caught travelling at about 140kph on the Eastern Freeway in Kew.
He underwent a drug test which allegedly returned a positive result.
As police were impounding his vehicle, Bajwa’s truck, allegedly came off the main lanes of the freeway at 100kph and crashed into the group of four police officers who were standing in the emergency lane.
Bystanders tried to revive the officers but they died at the scene.
Pusey, 41, was taken into custody after allegedly fleeing the crash site on Wednesday evening.
Bajwa was taken to hospital after passing out in the aftermath of the accident.
He remains there under police guard and is yet to be questioned.
Homicide detectives are currently trying to piece together what caused the crash.
