Drunk Monty Panesar fined for public Urinating, apologies thereafter

Must Read

ENGLAND spin bowler Monty Panesar has been fined by police for being drunk and disorderly after her urinated on bouncers at a Brighton nightclub.

According to the The Times, UK, the incident occurred in the small hours of Monday morning when the 31-year-old Sussex star was out enjoying himself at the Shooshh club on Brighton’s seafront. Panesar was allegedly ejected from the club after a group of women complained that he had been “hassling them”.

It’s claimed Panesar then ascended to the promenade above the club and, in cricketing parlance, sent down a delivery from the Brighton pavilion end. Security staff gave chase and intercepted the England bowler in a nearby pizza restaurant, where he was heard to shout ‘Help! Help!’. He was then marched back to the club in an arm-lock and handed over to the police who subsequently fined him £90.

So, not for the first time, Panesar has had trouble fending off bouncers. Sussex Cricket Club have confirmed they are looking into the matter, saying in a statement “that an incident took place involving Monty Panesar in the early hours of Monday 5 August.

The matter is under full investigation and the club will make no further comment at this stage.” A spokesman for the cricketer, who lives in neighbouring Hove, said: “Monty would like to apologise unreservedly for any offence caused.” Panesar, who joined Sussex from Northants in 2010, has played 48 Tests for England but has yet to feature in this summer’s Ashes series against Australia. On the evidence of Monday evening, fears that he may be struggling with his line and length appear unfounded.
