Desecration of Guru Granth Sahib – Another Sikh protester dies in Punjab

Tarn Taran – Protesting the alleged sacrilege of Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib, during another dharna at the Harike Bridge in Tarn Taran, a Nihang Sikh, Puran Singh, died due to heart attack. His body was also kept at the dharna spot where banners of ‘Khalisthan’ were also raised, police said.

Nihang Puran Singh aged 50 years was sitting on a hunger strike for the past 4 days against the alleged desecration of Guru Granth Sahib.

He was a resident of village Dholan Thathian, near Bhikhiwind town.

 The death has put the administration in yet another tight spot as it is already facing very tense situation.

Some protesters said he was facing a heart problem due to which he could not bear hunger. The death has made the situation more tense in the area.

His dead body was not cremated by the protesters till this story was published.  Thousands of protesters have continued the protest in the area.
