PANCHKULA: Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been found guilty of raping two women followers in 2002. He will be sentenced on Monday.
The Self-styled godman arrived in a 200-car cavalcade this afternoon in the town of Panchkula where a court had ordered him present for its ruling. Heavy security is deployed in Punjab and Haryana; paramilitary forces stayed put through the night in Panchkula and Sirsa. Army is also on stand by in the state.

Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Ram Rahim Singh has reached Rohtak’s Police Training College in Sunaria. He was flown in a helicopter.
1000 DSS Supporters Detained
1000 supporters of Dera Sacha Sauda have been detained in Panchkula, Haryana’s ADGP (Law & Order), Muhammad Akil said.
Death Toll Rises to 17
At least 17 people are dead as violence breaks out after Ram Rahim Singh was convicted. Two hundred others were injured in the violence.
However, the Haryana DGP said that the violence is under control. “The situation is now under control, protesters have been dispersed,” ANI quoted Haryana DGP BS Sandhu as saying.
