Melbourne – On JULY 3rd 2016, a free Census Information session on how to complete the 2016 online census was held at Gurdwara Singh Sabha in Craigieburn.
The session was organised by Victorian Sikh Gurduara Council in coordination with Sikh Interfaith Council Victoria (SICV).
A power point presentation was delivered by Mr. Robert Hughes from Australia Bureau of Statistics (ABS) focussing on the need of participating in the census and how to complete the online form.
S. Jasbir Singh Suropada from SICV concluded the main points of session in Punjabi and explained what options should Sikhs select on the census form to represent their different identity and language we speak at home.
S. Gurmit Singh Randhawa, VSGC President and also Secy. Gurdwara Craigieburn said that there will be volunteer stalls held at Gurdwara premises to help and aware the sangat about Australian Census 2016.

There will be a national Census on August 9th 2016. Every five years, the Australian Bureau of Statistics conducts a census of everyone in Australia. The census is the largest form of information gathering in Australia.
