A male nurse has been charged with raping a patient at a public hospital in southern Brisbane.
The 40-year-old man has been charged with two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault.
He allegedly raped a female patient yesterday morning.
The accused appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court earlier today and was released on bail.
The man is employed as a nurse at a hospital on Brisbane’s south side that cannot be identified for legal reasons.
In a statement, the Metro South Health Service says the man has been suspended while the allegations are investigated.
A spokeswoman for the health service says they are cooperating with police.
The accused man is due to appear in court again next month.
