Hassanpur – A day after the alleged scuffle between supporters of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa and the police, 82-year-old Bapu Surat Singh today wrote a letter to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, giving him an ultimatum till August 15.
Khalsa stated if the government failed to take concrete steps for the release of Sikh detainees within three days, he would make the secret talks between him and the messenger sent by the government for negotiation public. It is unknown what this threat might entail.
It is to be advised that Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa was earlier stopped by police from taking part in the Ardas of Sri Akhand Path Sahib at Gurdwara in village Hassanpur. Later after arguing with the police, Bhai Dhian Singh Mand and S. Jaspal Singh Hera brought him to Gurdwara Sahib stating that Bapu Ji had a right to pay obeisance at the Gurdwara Sahib.
A large number of supporters of Bapu Surat Singh, who had turned up to attend Akhand Path Sahib bhog, were also harassed on the way to the village by the police.  Police questioned individuals about their names, date of birth, father’s name, village name, etc. as they wished to take part in the program at Hassanpur.
Giani Balwant Singh Nandgarh, Sukhjeet Singh Khosa of Satkar Committee, and other prominent speakers shared the stage after the bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib.
