MELBOURNE – Sikh Poet and author Bapu Pritam Singh Prem, who had been living in Melbourne since 1989, passed away last week on 25th Aug 2017 at about 1:30am. He was 93 and spent last few days at Pallative care in Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Bapu ji was a great and brave Gursikh personality who wrote several poems about Sikh Freedom struggle and used to talk on Punjabi radios of Melbourne regularly. He was a bold writer and a strong advocate of Sikh sovereignty. He had also written a book ‘Wangaar’.
One of his sons Sukhvinder Singh was also a martyr in Sikh Freedom Struggle.
His antim ardas and funeral was conducted today in Melbourne. Singh sangat from various corners of Melbourne came to pay their tributes to the departed soul.
May Bapu ji rest in peace and his book ‘ Wangar’ be a great source of power for all the Sikh youth and generations.
