The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) general house assembled on Monday for the annual election of Sikh Gurdwara Management body president, other office-bearers and the executive committee in the Harmandir Sahib complex in Amritsar.
On the eve of electing the new Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president and other office-bearers for a one-year term, members owing allegiance to the SAD today entrusted all rights to party president Sukhbir Singh Badal to decide the new team. Around 100 members attended the meeting convened by SAD secretary general Daljeet Singh Cheema at Teja Singh Samundri Hall. SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur, and former presidents Gobind Singh Longowal and Kirpal Singh Badungar were among those present.
Incumbent SGPC chief secretary (honorary) Harjinder Singh Dhami has been elected as the new 44th President of SGPC.
