5 days Damdami Taksal Shaheedi Smagam concluded in Melbourne

Melbourne – From Wednesday 1st July to Sunday 5th July, the first annual Damdami Taksal Shaheedi Smagam took place at Singh Sabha Gurdwara in Craigieburn, Melbourne.

The samagam was attended by thousands of Sangat over the five days from all over Australia. This year’s samagam was dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the 1984 Ghallughara (Holocaust). Over the five day samagam there were Gurbani, Keertan, katha, Kids camp and Kavishari.

Bhai Sukhwinder Singh (UK) blessed with Kirtan hazri from Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji and Dasam Granth Sahib and also held gurmat camp for kids.

Bhai Balbir Singh Ji (UK) was blessed with Katha Hazri during the Morning and Evening diwaans on 5 days. During the 5-days diwaans, Bhai Balbir Singh ji did katha vichaars of ‘Tavparsaad Swayeeye’ gurbani and also presented vichaars on June 84 ghallughara.

A special attraction of the samagam was Jagowala Kawishari jatha, who performed kavishri by singing powerful kavita about 1984 Darbar Sahib attack and also sang the flagship Kavita of Jagowale titled “Jago” to pay tribute to Sant Jarnail Singh bhindranwale and others.

Gatka competition was also organised by Damdami Taksal Ranjit Akhara and prizes were given to the winners.

On the concluding day,Damdami Taksal Samagam organisers thanked Gurdwara Craigieburn Committee, Akhand Kirtani Jatha, Khalsa Shaouni Shepparton & Plumpton and smooh sadh-sangat for their cooperation towards the samagam.
