An 11-year-old boy has been charged with starting two fires after talking to police this morning, joining three other children who have been charged.

This comes as 58 fires continue to burn across NSW, 14 of which are uncontained.

With temperatures to peak in the mid-30s today, every resource is being sent to fight the bushfires, including military personnel.

The fear is that several bushfires could combine to create one “mega-fire”.

Here’s what we know so far:

– 58 fires are still burning across NSW and 14 are uncontained

– An emergency warning remains in place

– Temperatures in the mid-30s are expected today, with low humidity and winds strengthening

– The Rural Fire Service currently expects the bushfires to peak on Wednesday

– Residents of Bell advised to leave now and travel west towards Lithgow

– Four children have been implicated in the fires. An 11-year-old boy has been charged for starting two fires.

– The Lithgow Workers Club is open as an evacuation centre for people impacted by the fires
