According to the Facebook post shared on Gippy Grewal’s official page, the film took a good 2 years time for finalisation because of sensitive facts related to Sikh history. The film shoot is expected to commence from April 2017 with an expected completion in a tentative period of 120 days.
The movie will be directed by Simerjit Singh who has also co-written the story along with Rashid Rangrez.
Produced by Amneet Sher Singh, this one is lined up for release in 2018 and is expected to be Punjab’s most expensive movie with a budget of nearly 20 to 25 crores.
Bhai Jaita was a Sikh General and an accomplice, companion and friend of Guru Gobind ji. He was a poet and a warrior, who eventually became a Sikh martyr and an icon when he fell during the siege of Chamkaur in 1705 against the Mughal armies.
