MUMBAI:  The ‘Udta Punjab’ controversy is now a full-scale political war and the battle between Pahlaj Nihalani, CBFC chief and Anurag Kashyap, the co-producer of Udta Punjab is getting more dramatic by the day.

Earlier on Wednesday afternoon, news channels approached Pahlaj Nihalani to comment on the 89 cuts that they have suggested to the makers of Udta Punjab, and also that the revising committee has not given an official letter to the makers of the film regarding these cuts.

The producer of Bollywood film Udta Punjab has said he will “not accept” cuts being requested by the country’s film certification board.

Anurag Kashyap’s film depicts the problem of drug abuse in the northern state of Punjab.

India’s film board has recently come in for criticism for its controversial decisions to remove scenes in several films including some Hollywood movies before they were allowed to be screened in cinemas.
