Cops pick up Bapu Surat Singh again, Admitted at PGI Chandigarh


Once again, Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa, who has been has been forcibly picked by Punjab Police and admitted to the PGI, Chandigarh, this evening at 9:20pm. He has been given a VIP room at Emergency (Surgery).

Confirming this, Bapu Surat Singh’s son, Ravinderjit Singh Gogi said: “My father has not been keeping well and was unconscious for the last few days. The district administration officials have shifted him to the PGI, Chandigarh.”

Eyewitnesses said the administration had arranged four ambulances and a fire brigade that accompanied Bapu ji to Chandigarh under the guidance of Ludhiana Civil Surgeon Dr Renu.

As per eyewitnesses present at Bapu ji’s house,  Heavy police force was deployed at Hassanpur village and Deputy Commissioner Rajat Aggarwal and SSP Ravcharan Singh Brar were also present at Khalsa’s house.

Bapu Surat Singh was earlier administered glucose twice in hospitals at Ludhiana and Chandigarh, but he continued his fast immediately after he was discharged.

Meanwhile Bapu ji’s blood tests, sugar and kidney tests along with electrolytes test are being done. Essential amino acids like chromium, iron and copper are also being tested along with renal function test and liver test.

Doctors attending him said his condition was stable and there was no immediate threat to his life. A number of top police officials have been deployed.

The state police are on high alert fearing law and order trouble. Maximum security is deployed at Hassanpur village this evening. Senior police officials and Akali leadership said they were keeping a close watch on the situation and hoping for an amicable solution.
