We have reached a moment no one can be silent anymore. Today marks the 50th day of hunger strike by bhai Gurbaksh Singh who is seeking release of 7 Sikh political prisoners who have completed their jail sentence a long time back but still suffering in prisons.
Bhai Gurbaksh Singh has now threatened to give up water from January 2 if his demand was not met.
Bhai Gurbaksh Singh’s health is rapidly and seriously deteriorating.According to Tribune Newspaper, a team of three doctors visited him today. They confirmed that his condition was getting critical and that he should immediately end his fast.
Meanwhile, his supporters have planned out an ‘Ardas’ at Lakhnour Sahib Gurdwara tomorrow for his well being. He started his fast on November 14.
During these 50 days of hunger strike, Bhai Gurbaksh Singh has garnered ample support from a number of political and social organisations, including the BJP, SAD (B), SAD (A), AAP, BSP, RSS and the HSGMC and many prominent Punjabi Singer, but none of the competent authorities have assured him that his demand would be met.
