Proud to be A Sikh Movie Review

Proud to be a Sikh” is about the journey of a Gursikh professor in making Sikh youngsters aware and feel proud for their identity and rich heritage , the difficulties he faced during this journey, and how he emerges victorious in the end. It is about clarifying the true image of a Sikh in the mind of society and not the one which they have projected in their minds based on false media propaganda and other misunderstandings.

Today’s generation is greatly impacted by media and this movie truly covers the entertainment & educational part in Gursikhi context. The movie also have a flavor to build confidence in Sikh youth who feel ashamed of their identity and teaches them how they can actually be known as Proud to be Sikhs.

The movie is about hour and half long and has four songs (two are rap songs.) Shooting was done in Ludhiana and nearby areas.

The lead character is played by Amritpal Singh Billa (a renowned Punjabi actor). Other major cast members include Satish Kaul ,  Harvinder Singh, Rakinder Kaur, Harkirat Singh, Prince Chibuiseize,  Tarlochan Singh, Sifat Sidhu and others.

Overall the concept and the movie is awesome. The music and lyrics are amazing and emotional. Truly a MUST WATCH movie especially for today’s young generation.

The only other feedback for the movie is that it would have been even better to focus more on the transition process of the college youth shown in the movie in turning to Gursikhs. Their whole journey of change was presented bit abruptly and could have been emphasized on more on that process.
